Architectural Services
OFM's Manager Projects, or delegated representative, is responsible for providing advice on siting, formulation of brief, engaging external consultants to prepare estimates, design, tender documentation and specifications for minor works and refurbishment projects.
The Manager Projects or delegated representative, supervises the consultants preparing architectural design, tender documentation, calling and assessing tenders and contract administration. A 5% service fee of the total cost of the works is charged to cover co-ordination, administration and supervision if consultants are engaged. Under the University's policy, consultants charge a 10% service fee of the project cost.
For minor works and refurbishment projects under $100,000 the architectural design is prepared in house under the supervision of the Manager Projects. For Architectural services, Divisions/Departments/Offices/Units are to submit a Service Request, where a 15% service fee is charged of the total cost of the works to cover advice, planning, design, documentation, tendering and supervision.
Minor Works submissions are invited from all Heads of Divisions/Offices in October for assessment and formulation of an Annual Minor Works programme with budget allocation for approved items.
